In our next seminar, Katherine Ibbett of UCL will speak on the title: 'Head of the River: Making Water Material in Early Modern Europe'. From an inkstand river god to a water-themed salt cellar, her objects of choice will be used to explore how rivers work in textual and material forms.

The seminar takes place at 2pm in the Latimer Room in Clare College's Old Court. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available. All welcome.

For those unable to attend, a short account of the paper will be available on this site following the seminar.
